Summary:

Ensure that company-owned and customer-owned OCTG material is received, handled, stored and delivered in the correct condition, with full traceability throughout the storage period. Manage Inventory records and contribute to safe, high-quality, effective and efficient handling, loading, unloading and storage activities. Coordinate third-party logistics personnel in line with Vallourec and customer QHSE procedures, policies, standards and requirements. Act as the yard lifting specialist for the safe planning, coordination and supervision of routine pipe-movement and lifting activities, ensuring suitable lifting equipment, accessories and competent personnel are used.

Responsibilities:

• OCTG Receiving, Storage and Delivery:
• Ensure OCTG products are controlled from receipt through storage and dispatch in accordance with planning, customer requirements and applicable standards.
• Receive OCTG products and services according to plan and protect their integrity during the receiving process.
• Ensure received pipes are tagged, identified and inspected before storage.
• Ensure OCTG materials remain in prime condition throughout the storage period and apply FIFO for internal movements and deliveries.
• Ensure loading and unloading activities are completed correctly so that the right product is delivered in prime condition at the right time.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise routine lifting and movement of pipe within the yard, including loading, unloading, stacking, internal transfers and dispatch activities.
• Confirm that lifting activities are prepared with suitable equipment, lifting accessories, defined load weights and safe exclusion zones before work begins.
• Inventory, Traceability and Equipment Control:
• Maintain complete and accurate inventory information and the full traceability of OCTG material held in the yard.
• Manage Inventory and deliver accurate and complete storage reports.
• Guarantee traceability through pipe-tag technology for all OCTG material throughout the storage period.
• Ensure associated traceability equipment is maintained and kept in good working order.
• Ensure tools, consumables and equipment are maintained and optimise consumable use to reduce waste.
• QHSE, Supplier Supervision and Performance:
• Coordinate safe and efficient yard activity, including the direct operational supervision of third-party logistics personnel.
• Ensure logistics processes and procedures deliver a high level of service safely, without environmental impact and in line with company procedures and QHSE rules.
• Ensure third-party logistics personnel work safely, correctly and within their training and competence.
• Lead pre-job toolbox talks, yard coordination, supplier evaluation, performance KPI management and job traceability.
• Ensure operations comply with company and customer safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Report incidents and support the Service Base Manager and QHSE Officer with weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Act as the yard focal point for lifting operations, ensuring lifting equipment and accessories are inspected, certified, identifiable and used within their rated capacity.
• Verify that operators, banksmen and slinger/signallers undertaking lifting activities are trained, competent and authorised for the task.
• Lead or support task risk assessments, lift plans and pre-lift toolbox talks, and stop work where lifting conditions or controls are unsafe.
• Escalate non-routine, complex or high-risk lifts to the Base Manager and appropriate appointed lifting authority before execution.

Qualifications:

• Two to five years of experience in OCTG yard supervision.
• Advanced practical knowledge and skills relevant to yard operations, with the ability to work under limited supervision.
• Above-average safety and quality maturity appropriate to the role.
• Experience of OCTG receiving, handling, storage, loading, unloading and traceability processes.
• Ability to supervise third-party logistics personnel and coordinate safe yard activities.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory and operational records.
• Practical experience of planning and supervising the lifting and movement of OCTG pipe using forklifts, cranes or other applicable yard-handling equipment.
• Working knowledge of lifting plans, load assessment, lifting accessories, safe working loads, exclusion zones and recognised signalling arrangements.
• Relevant lifting supervision or appointed-person competence/certification in accordance with applicable local requirements and company standards, or the ability to obtain this before undertaking the responsibility independently.
