Our client in Maputo is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team within the FMCG Sector.

Responsibilities

  • Build comprehensive market intelligence including but not limited to: National customer universe (current and potential); total market size; sales participation by customer group; sales participation by province; numerical distribution by channel.
  • Identify of gaps in the current route to market strategy and the proposal and implementation of measures to address such gaps.
  • Build relationships with key commercial staff at the distributor to support the growth of the brands in Mozambique and achieve the company’s overall commercial objectives for the country.
  • Distribute capability audit and scorecard implementation: development and execution of key scorecard metrics to measure distribution capabilities of the company’s local partners.
  • Identify volume growth opportunities and development of initiatives and strategies to service them.

Requirements

  • Must have strong commercial and business acumen.
  • At least 6 years in Sales/Commercial and/or Marketing experience in the informal FMCG sector in Mozambique.
  • Experience in establishing trade relationships in the informal sector.
  • Must be fluent in English.
