Our client in Maputo is looking for a Country Manager with BD Capabilities to join their team within the Commodities’ Inspection Sector.
Responsibilities
- Own the country P&L — revenue, margins, costs, and collections.
- Ensure operations across fuel inspection, agri inspection, lab services, and collateral management are delivered on time and to standard.
- Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and convert opportunities into signed contracts.
- Develop relationships with existing clients and identify new ones — in the oil and gas sector, agriculture, financial institutions, and government bodies.
- Set clear expectations, hold your direct reports accountable, and develop their capability.
- Manage people matters in line with Mozambiquan labour law and Group HR policy.
- Maintain a zero-fatality safety record and enforce HSE standards across all operations.
- Ensure full compliance with Group governance, approval frameworks, and statutory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- IFIA certification or equivalent industry credentials preferred.
- At least 8 years in operations or general management, with at least 3 years running or co-running a business unit with P&L accountability.
- Hands-on experience in the inspection, testing, and certification (TIC) industry — fuel, agri, or related commodities.
- A track record of growing revenue and managing teams across multiple locations.
- Working knowledge of the Mozambiquan regulatory and business environment.
