Duties
- Environmental Monitoring and Compliance
- Conduct daily inspections of site activities to ensure Contractor compliance with environmental requirements, permit conditions and regulatory requirements and specific standards
- Monitor air, water, soil, wastes and noise levels as per environmental management plans
- Identify and report any environmental risks or compliance issues
- Critically assessing environmental conditions in the field to evaluate potential environmental impacts from construction
- Inspecting and documenting compliance with a environmental requirements by preparing daily written inspection reports that provide up-to-date and consistent written and photo documentation of activities observed in the field
- Obtain, check/verify contractor reporting data
- Performing additional tasks as assigned or required
- Regulatory Liaison
- As delegated by Environmental Field Lead, interface with local, regional, and national regulatory agencies to ensure permits and licenses are obtained and maintained
- Daily interface with contractor ; leadership, and Company site management to ensure commitments and stipulations are proactively considered in work planning stewarded and managed
- Support audits and inspections by regulatory bodies, Lenders/IESC and taking necessary actions for timely resolution of findings
- Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of daily compliance inspections, environmental data, incidents, communications to contractors, and corrective actions
- Prepare and submit environmental reports, including incident logs, monitoring results, and compliance summaries
- Prepare and maintain the training records
- Training & Awareness
- Conduct toolbox talks and environmental awareness sessions for site personnel
- Promote best practices in waste management, spill prevention, and biodiversity protection
Requisites
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in field-based environmental and regulatory oversight roles, preferably in oil and gas, mining, or construction
- Strong knowledge of local and international environmental regulations
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and other environmental management systems
- Willingness to work in remote or challenging environments
- Excellent observational and analytical skills
- Strong communication and report-writing abilities
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure
- Proficiency in environmental monitoring tools and software
- Collaborative mindset with a commitment to safety and sustainability
