Responsibilities.

  • Field execution and/or oversight of resettlement (terrestrial and fisheries) data administration and management (collection, QA/QC, analysis, distribution, workflow and data maintenance, etc.).
  • Undertake regular inspections to ensure that data collection by a third-party is being managed in line with business protocols and requirements.
  • Overall data and documentation quality control and assurance.
  • Check completeness of the survey forms, collected data, photos, matching of the photos to the assets recorded in the forms.
  • Performs checks on asset summaries, household agreements and Proof of Payments before presented to impacted households.
  • Ensure all data collected is adequately stored, backed up and data managed in the Project’s data repository.
  • Be the custodian of the resettlement physical and digital data archive.
  • Develop protocols and ensure their application for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy and legitimacy of data.
  • Manage all Resettlement related equipment (e.g., GPS units, plotters, printers, cameras) for collection, processing and reporting of collected data.
  • Conduct spatial analyses and provide specific mapping support for resettlement team and SED more broadly.
  • Produce regular reports/progress maps, plus ad hoc information to support Project activities.
  • Provide training on IP mobilization and as required during the execution of the works.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Data Management or related field.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience with social geospatial data management and analysis.
  • Good understanding of the processes involved in compensation associated with Resettlement and a comprehensive understanding of data management requirements to feed the compensation processes (collection, QA/QC, analysis, distribution, workflow and data maintenance, etc.).
  • Acute awareness of the importance of data integrity and quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time while meeting deadlines.
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with modern database management software, including ArcGIS Pro, SDE, FileMaker, ODBC, ISOMETRIX, Borealis.
  • Experience of fisher and vessel registration and of working with fishing communities.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) required
