The Key Purpose of this role is to maintain, repair and optimise the E&F plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost without sacrificing standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with VPO safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and legislation.

  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards

  • Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation and or systems.

  • Plan and prepare the job.

  • Carry out repairs / maintenance.

  • Operate workshop equipment.

  • Stop and start Utilities equipment.

  • Ensure plant availability

  • Optimise usage of resources

  • Support the team to improve process quality

  • Facilitate team problem solving

  • Monitor trends and initiate corrective action

  • Perform running schedules

  • Communicate effectively in teams.

  • Contribute to self and team development

  • Backlog.

  • Satisfied customers – no rework.

  • Identification of unsafe practices.

  • Safety inspections conducted.

  • Safe maintenance practices audited.

  • Adherence to PPE policies.

  • Maintenance tools are in good working order

Minimum Requirements:

  • Min – NTC / N5 Technikon qualification Trade test qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Millwright Ammonia CAT A & B Certification

  • Min – 3 – 5 years in a Utilities Brewery production environment

  • 1-3 Years technical mechanical/electrical and Utilities experience in a leadership capacity in a FMCG environment
