The Opportunity
Northern Mozambique is at the centre of one of Africa’s most significant industrial investment programmes.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial and commercially driven Business Development Manager to lead Field Ready’s growth across the Northern Region.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, strengthening relationships with employers, government and development partners, and positioning Field Ready as the preferred workforce development and Local
Content partner across Cabo Delgado and neighbouring provinces.
This is a highly visible role that combines business development, stakeholder engagement and regional market leadership. It offers the opportunity to make a direct contribution to both Field Ready’s commercial growth and Mozambique’s economic development.
What You’ll Be Responsible
For As Business Development Manager โ Northern Region, you will:
- Lead Field Ready’s business development activities across Northern Mozambique.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with LNG operators, EPC contractors, mining companies, government institutions and development partners.
- Generate and manage a strong pipeline of commercial opportunities.
- Promote Field Ready’s workforce development, Local Content and employer solutions.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, grants and collaborative initiatives.
- Support employers in meeting Local Content objectives through innovative workforce solutions.
- Coordinate regional workshops, stakeholder engagement activities and business events.
- Develop relationships with universities, TVET institutions, business associations and local communities
- Gather market intelligence to identify emerging opportunities, risks and investment trends.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular pipeline and market reports.
- Collaborate closely with the Marketing, Communications & Brand Manager and Programme Delivery teams to ensure an integrated client experience.

Within your first 12 months, you will have:

- Generated a sustainable pipeline of high-quality commercial opportunities.

- Contributed directly to revenue growth and organisational expansion
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines commercial drive, relationship-building skills and deep regional
knowledge.
You should have
- ย
- At least five years’ experience in business development, account management, partnership development or commercial roles.
- Experience working within Cabo Delgado or another major industrial region of Mozambique
- Strong understanding of the LNG, mining, infrastructure or industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated success building relationships with government, private sector and development organisations
- Excellent communication, negotiation and networking skills.
- Strong commercial acumen and business development capability.
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in Portuguese.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Project Management, Community Development or a related field.
The following will be considered an advantage:
- ย
- Experience with Local Content programmes or workforce development initiatives
- Experience working with donor-funded projects.
- English language proficiency.
- Fluency in local languages spoken across Northern Mozambique, including Emakhuwa, Kimwani or Makonde.
- An established professional network within Cabo Delgado and the wider Northern Region.
